Our Experts Biography

Niño Jose Mateo is a registered psychologist and guidance counselor, and the past president of the Psychological Association of the Philippines. A full professor and Assistant Dean for External Affairs and Lasallian Mission at De La Salle University, he earned his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the same institution, where he graduated first in the board exam for guidance and counseling.

He has published extensively on mental health, well-being, and counselor development, and is a certified Choice Theory/Reality Therapy practitioner and instructor. Currently, he serves as the Director for Mental Health at Wellnessentials Psychological Services, offering evidence-based interventions for individuals and organizations.
