Premier Value Provider Inc. (PVP) successfully concluded the “Leading for Impact: Empowering Future-Ready Leaders of PhilRice” training — a dynamic leadership development program designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and cultivate a growth-oriented culture among professionals of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice).


The program drew 124 participants, reflecting strong engagement and enthusiasm from across PhilRice’s stations and departments. With an impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 77, the training received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees who described it as “relevant, engaging, and inspiring.” Participants appreciated the practical applications of the topics, especially in mentoring, situational leadership, and change management — all of which are crucial in navigating today’s evolving organizational landscape.



Empowering Learning Experiences

The five-day program was thoughtfully structured to cover key leadership dimensions, ensuring both personal and organizational growth:


Day 1 – Leading with Core Values and Purpose

Focused on internalizing PhilRice’s core values and leadership expectations, helping participants strengthen their identity, purpose, and alignment with the organization’s mission.

Day 2 – Communicating with Influence and Inclusiveness

Enhanced communication, coaching, and team collaboration skills, empowering leaders to foster inclusivity and trust within diverse teams.

Day 3 – Strategic and Critical Thinking for Institutional Impact

Built participants’ capacity for systems thinking and evidence-based decision-making, aligning leadership practices with PhilRice’s strategic direction.

Day 4 – High-Performance Leadership in Action

Covered performance management, empowerment, and leading high-performing teams to sustain productivity and engagement.

Day 5 – Leading Change and Digital Transformation

Focused on change leadership, innovation, digital enablement, and personal action planning to prepare participants for future organizational challenges.

The standout elements of the program were the breakout sessions and group sharing, which participants lauded for being “meaningful, interactive, and collaborative.” These activities encouraged open communication and peer learning, helping participants connect with colleagues from different stations and gain new perspectives on leadership and teamwork.

Inspiring Facilitators

The training was led by Sir Ross Villamil and Dr. Marshall N. Valencia, whose facilitation style received a strong NPS of 74 — a testament to their credibility, expertise, and impactful delivery. Participants highlighted their “complementary expertise” and “organized and insightful presentations” that connected theory to real-world leadership challenges.

Continuous Growth and Collaboration

Beyond the learning sessions, participants valued how the training fostered inclusivity and confidence among all staff levels — not just for senior leaders. Many expressed appreciation that the sessions empowered younger or newly promoted employees to see themselves as leaders in their own right.

Looking Ahead

As participants reflected on the sessions, many shared recommendations to bring future trainings face-to-face to deepen engagement and collaboration.
