PVP Completes Mental Health Webinar Series for Development Bank of the Philippines

Premier Value Provider, Inc. (PVP) recently concluded a landmark project, conducting a comprehensive 5-month webinar series on employee mental health for the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). From October 2023 to February 2024, PVP organized and facilitated 2-4 webinars each month, totaling an impressive 18 sessions.

The webinar series, tailored specifically for DBP employees, focused on promoting mental well-being and providing strategies to navigate workplace challenges and uncertainties. Each 1.5-hour online session was delivered via the Zoom platform, offering participants a flexible and convenient learning experience.

Recognizing the importance of accommodating various schedules, the webinars were strategically scheduled on different days throughout the 5-month period, ensuring that employees had enough opportunities to attend sessions that aligned with their work commitments.

The series ended in a remarkable achievement, with over 1,000 employees for the whole webinar run, highlighting the growing awareness and interest in mental health among DBP employees.

Another key strength of the webinar series was its comprehensive and interconnected approach to mental health. While each webinar addressed a distinct aspect of mental well-being, they collectively formed a unified and well-rounded understanding of the subject matter.

The webinars were led by experts in mental health and human resources, including:

  1. "Understanding Transitional Stress in the Workplace: Strategies to Navigate Work Uncertainties" by Dr. Alessandra Arpon, RPsy, CSCOP

  2. "Reinventing the Self: Navigating Uncertainties with Purpose" by Mr. Ross Villamil

  3. "Effectively Navigating Challenging Transitions in Life" by Mr. Geral Peñaranda, RPsy

  4. "PAGHUBOG: Calming the Storms Inside" by Mr. Gerald Peñaranda, RPsy

  5. "Transcending from Stress: A Stress Management Webinar" by Ms. Suzy Roxas, MBM, MSC, RPsy, CPAS

  6. "Building Psychological Resilience" by Dr. Marshall Valencia

These esteemed speakers shared their expertise with unwavering commitment, ensuring that participants not only gained valuable knowledge but also acquired practical strategies to enhance their mental well-being and navigate the complexities of modern work life.

Therefore, it was not surprising that the webinar series received positive feedback from DBP employees, reflecting the value it provided. One employee praised "The relevance of the topic for employees challenged with work-related dilemmas," while another appreciated that "The topic of the webinar is very inclusive, and validates the stress and emotions we feel, helping us find suitable solutions."

Many participants expressed their gratitude, with one stating, "Programs like this are helpful to us employees because our mental health impacts our work performance directly. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this kind of event and for providing us with excellent speakers." Another participant shared, "I like the whole session because it really helps employees like me on how to deal with difficulties at work and also in personal life."

PVP's successful delivery of this webinar series highlights its commitment to supporting organizations in nurturing a mentally healthy and resilient workforce. However, this project would not have been possible without the initiative of the DBP Learning and Development Department. Their proactive approach to employee well-being and dedication to creating a supportive work environment laid the foundation for this project. The positive impact of this joint effort hopefully resonates throughout DBP, fostering a more productive, engaged, and supportive work culture for employees.
